
Board Member
Ndey Yassin Sallah serves as a Board Member of the Care Agency for Resilience and Resistance (CARR). She brings over thirty years of experience across social welfare, public broadcasting, and national policymaking in The Gambia. From 2017 to 2022, she was a Nominated Member of the National Assembly, sitting on the committees for Education and ICT, Health, Human Rights and Constitutional Matters, Public Petitions, Privilege and Ethics, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Before parliament, she spent more than two decades at Radio Gambia, rising from Secretary to Senior Producer, and earlier worked as a Social Welfare Assistant at the Department of Social Welfare. Ndey has been an advocate for visually impaired women in The Gambia since the early 1990s. She represented the country at the African Union of the Blind General Assembly in Nairobi, the African Forum for VI Women in Ghana, and the World Blind Union Congress in Switzerland (2008), and has run awareness campaigns and vocational training projects for VI women at home. She studied at Campama School for the Blind and St. Joseph's High School, and later trained at Dorton College, the Royal London Society for the Blind. She joins CARR's board with the legislative experience, media background, and personal advocacy that the organisation's inclusion-focused work calls for.
